Happy National Grammar Day!
I still don’t have a book review for you this week. I’m two hundred or so pages away from the end of Fall of Giants. So hopefully by Monday I’ll be done and have some insightful words about Ken Follet’s latest novel. Also, due to this new postion at work, I’ve been too stressed and overwhelmed to put any effort into my own writing. It has, alas, fallen by the wayside…again.
So this is about week five that I haven’t written anything of significance or quality. And in case you were wondering what happens to creatives’ minds when they don’t have proper creative outlets, it’s a mess up in here. My brain is a jumble of Green Day’s rock opera, Avril Lavigne lyrics, Prison Break, characters from various indie movies, the tenth Doctor, and the Patron Saint of Lost Causes, and now it’s trying to sort them all together into some kind of story. What this really means is that what you watch and listen to really does affect you. Sometimes for good, and sometimes just for…confusion.
I thought for a while growing up that I was the only person whose mind became jumbled when not focused on narrative, because I didn’t know any other writer types. It’s nice now to know I have kindred spirits.
Nope, it happens to us all. Nice to see you here, Thomas. 🙂
